Lacks Authentic Flavor – Possible Chicory Presence

I recently purchased this filter coffee powder in the country I currently reside in. Having grown up in Kumbakonam, I’m very familiar with what defines a traditional Kumbakonam filter coffee — and unfortunately, this product doesn't come close to that standard.

Although the packaging claims “0% chicory,” I strongly suspect that chicory has been added. The decoction is unusually thick, which is a typical characteristic of chicory-blended coffee. Moreover, the coffee lacks the distinct aroma and flavor profile that’s essential to a good Kumbakonam coffee.

This leads me to believe that the coffee either contains more chicory than declared, or the blend does not include the right ratio of Plantation A or Peaberry beans, which are essential to achieve that signature flavor.

I hope this feedback helps in reviewing the product's formulation and maintaining authenticity.
